Foam Concentrate - Plane Drop Test

In 1999 GIMAEX dropped its ONE SEVEN® class A foam from a plane near the Polish village of Zielona Gora. The local forest authority, in cooperation with GIMAEX, wanted to test the foam's behavior when delivered from a plane. The plane flew 90 feet above the tree tops at 80 mph. The pilot opened one discharge pipe with a diameter of 3.9". In this first test, the ONE SEVEN® class A foam fell in a clearing to the ground. The foam carpeted an area approx. 430 yards long and 80 feet wide.

In the next test the plane (at the same speed/height) discharged both pipes (2 x 3.9"). Using both pipes, the foam covered an area 361 yards long and 103 feet wide. The foam spread evenly on the trees and remained for more than 2 hours at a temperature of approx. 65° F. Impressed, the local forest authority announced that it would equip all fire fighting planes with the ONE SEVEN® system.
